News What's dpBB? dpBB 0.6.2 dpBB 0.7.0 Official dpBB forums Sites using dpBB Authors
There has been a pause on dpBB development for the last year or so. As you may have noticed, this page has been moved away from Sourceforge, and the domain dpbb.org doesn't exist anymore. This page is now under the domain digip.org, which is dedicated to work of a few coders and gfx guys who consider themselves the members of Digital Paradox.
Some things on this pages have been inaccurate or broken for the whole year. I've finally decided to fix things up for good and accept it: dpBB is dead. I won't continue development. I know it has many bugs. Some of them have been fixed and even some new features have been added to the version at Mureakuha, but working with the old code is pain. The version in Mureakuha is so heavily tweaked to fit the needs there that I don't think it's reasonable to try to merge those bug fixes and features in the main dpBB source.
Not all is lost, though. I have a new concept in mind, I just don't have the time to implement it at the time. Maybe some day dpBB will have a proud descendant.

dpBB is an open source bulletin board system implemented with PHP4. It aims to be very fast and customizable and still easy to use. dpBB stands for Digital Paradox Web Bulletin Board System.
The latest release version of dpBB is 0.6.2. The current development version is 0.7.0.
Do you have problems with dpBB? Do you have comments or ideas of new features for the future versions of dpBB? Or do you simply want to find out what dpBB looks like? Check out the Official dpBB forums. You can also send email to the authors.
dpBB 0.6.2 is the current release version.
Development cancelled.
dpBB 0.7.0 will have many new features compared to the 0.6.2 release, for example the template system and database plugins. The template system will make it possible for users to alter the layout of dpBB completely. The database plugin system lets users to write database plugins for other databases than MySQL (which is supported by default) or even files!
The documentation and the source tarball are updated daily from the CVS. This doesn't mean that something new is added every day but if the developers are in a not-so-lazy mood the output of our inspiration will be available at 22:00 GMT.
Neither the documentation nor the sources are of very much use yet. Don't try to use the dpBB in the tarball, it simply doesn't work yet. It is useful only if you want to check what the code looks like.
The official dpBB forums and this whole site are hosted by Tietokonepalvelu Mikrolahti. The version used in the official forums is 0.6.2.
